Certifications, stated the way a procurement engineer reads them

A certificate is a scope statement, not a badge. Here is exactly what ours cover — and what they do not.

Most equipment websites list certification logos without scopes. A procurement engineer cannot use a logo: the audit question is always what activity, at what site, under which standard, verified by whom, valid until when. What the ISO certificate covers — and what runs on code practice instead

Two different assurance mechanisms, deliberately not conflated.

What does Arrow Energy's ISO 9001:2015 certificate actually cover?

The TÜV Rheinland certificate covers spare parts, installation and maintenance services — the exact scope wording. It attests that those activities run under an audited quality management system: documented procedures, competence records, nonconformity control and corrective action, verified by third-party surveillance audit. It is not a product certificate and it does not certify design output.

We state that boundary deliberately, and we do not write "ISO-certified manufacturing", because ISO 9001 certifies a management system for the activities in its scope — nothing more. Assurance for fabrication comes from a different mechanism: construction codes. Boiler pressure parts — the scope described on the boiler pressure parts page — are fabricated to ASME Section I or JIS practice as the contract requires: code-listed materials, qualified weld procedures, calculated minimum wall thicknesses, and the hydrostatic test. Where a project requires an ASME code stamp and authorised-inspector involvement, that scope is stated per project in the quotation — which code edition, which stampholder, which witnessed inspections — rather than implied generally. CONFIRM: current code-stamp scope held, if any.

The practical consequence for a buyer: for spares, installation and maintenance — including the boiler spares scope — the ISO certificate applies directly. For new pressure-part fabrication, ask for the project quality plan; it names the code, the inspection regime and the documentation you will receive, and it is a firmer assurance than any logo.

03 — Welding, materials, NDT

The qualification chain from mill certificate to final weld

Every weld traceable to a qualified procedure, a qualified welder and a certified heat of steel.

Welding qualification. Every production weld runs to a welding procedure specification (WPS) supported by a procedure qualification record (PQR) — the destructive-test evidence that the procedure produces sound metal — and is made by a welder holding a current welder performance qualification (WPQ) for that process, material group and position, all to ASME Section IX. The qualification register is maintained per project and is available to the customer's inspector.

Inspection and NDT. Weld visual and dimensional inspection is carried out by CSWIP 3.1-qualified inspectors (CONFIRM: number of CSWIP 3.1 inspectors); non-destructive testing is performed and evaluated by ASNT-certified personnel (CONFIRM: ASNT levels and methods held — RT/UT/MT/PT). NDT extent — for example the radiography percentage on butt welds — is set by the applicable code and the project ITP, not by a blanket claim.

How does 100 % material traceability actually work?

Every plate, tube and section for pressure parts and ESP internals arrives with a mill test certificate to EN 10204 type 3.1 — or type 3.2 with independent witness where specified — reviewed against the ordered grade before release. The heat number is transferred to each cut piece and recorded at every operation, so any finished component traces back to its mill certificate.

Traceability earns its cost the day something goes wrong: if a heat of tube is later found out of specification, the records identify every component made from it — in the factory or already at site — within hours, and only those components are quarantined. Without heat-number transfer, the same event condemns an entire delivery.

04 — Inspection & documentation

Factory inspection, ITP practice and the QA dossier you receive

Hold points the customer controls, and a documentation set that survives the project team.

Each fabrication project runs to an inspection and test plan agreed before work starts. The ITP lists every verification — material check, fit-up, weld visual, NDT, dimensional survey, trial assembly where specified, hydrostatic test for pressure parts, surface preparation and coating, pre-shipment inspection — and marks each as a review, witness or hold point for the customer or their third-party inspector. A hold point means fabrication stops until the point is signed; customers are welcome at the Samut Sakhon factory for any of them, and the same ITP logic extends to site work and commissioning.

At handover the project ships with its QA documentation set: the signed ITP, mill test certificates indexed by heat number and component, WPS/PQR/WPQ records, NDT reports, dimensional and hydrostatic test records, coating reports and the as-built drawing register. Years later, this dossier is what lets a plant order a replacement part in the correct material without guesswork — the working definition of quality documentation that was worth producing. Is Arrow Energy ISO 9001 certified?

Yes — ISO 9001:2015, certified by TÜV Rheinland, with a scope covering spare parts, installation and maintenance services. The scope statement matters: it is not a blanket 'ISO-certified manufacturing' claim. Design and fabrication run under documented procedures and construction-code controls (ASME IX welding qualification, 100 % material traceability), stated per project.

Does Arrow Energy hold an ASME code stamp?

Pressure-part fabrication follows ASME Section I / JIS practice, and code-stamp scope is stated per project rather than claimed generally. For each contract, the quotation states which code edition applies, whether a stamp is required and who holds it, and which inspections an authorised inspector witnesses. What material certificates does Arrow Energy provide?

Mill test certificates to EN 10204 — type 3.1 as standard, type 3.2 with independent witness where the contract requires it — reviewed against the specified grade before release to fabrication. Every pressure-part and internals item carries its heat number through cutting, forming and welding, giving 100 % traceability from finished part back to the mill certificate.

Can customers inspect fabrication at the Arrow Energy factory?

Yes. Each project runs to an agreed inspection and test plan (ITP) with customer hold and witness points — typically material verification, fit-up, weld visual and NDT, dimensional checks and pre-shipment inspection at the Samut Sakhon factory. Hold points stop work until the customer or their third-party inspector has signed; the signed ITP ships with the QA documentation set.
